About the Enterprise Network Design Tool

The Enterprise Network Design Tool designs the minimum-cost network topology required to achieve a client's desired service level. It takes the following parameters as input:

  • Vendor: MCIW or Sprint
  • Design Type: DTS access/FR backbone; FR access/FR backbone; DTS access/DTS backbone; DTS access/ATM backbone
  • Committed Information Rate ratio
  • Number of routers

The output is presented in two forms:

  • A table containing the number of nodes, number of DS0s, access costs, base costs, and design costs.
  • An active graphical map depicting circuits connecting service points. Additional information about service point and connecting circuit is available by clicking on the node points or the connecting links.
